Lenwood Road Grade Separation

As part of the Alameda Rail Corridor East project, the Lenwood Road Grade Separation project will allows uninterrupted flow of both vehicular and freight rail traffic though the City of Barstow. This project constructed a grade separated crossing along Lenwood Road over the existing BNSF tracks.  The improvements included widening of Lenwood Road from two lanes to four lanes between Main Street and Jasper Road. In completion of the project, the grade separation will allow for improved emergency response time; will reduce congestion and in turn improve air quality.

CHJ Consultants provided quality assurance testing services for construction materials, at the direction of the project managers of Simon Wong Engineering. Our services included compaction testing, concrete testing, and materials testing of many aspects of the project such as: Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls, structural fill and embankment, and sewer improvements.
